Peking University, May 12, 2012: The Second Cultural Talk between China and Arab, an international seminar on languages and culture, curtained up at the Pyramisa Hotel in Cairo on April 26, 2012.
The seminar was hosted by the Peking University (PKU) Department of Arabic Language, PKU Sultan Qaboos Research Project and the Confucius Institute in Cairo.
Seven professors from the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, the School of Foreign Languages, and other PKU divisions, attended the meeting, together with over 60 teachers and scholars from other institutes.
Vice Principal of the University of Cairo expressed that cultural talks could promote the communication between China and Arab, therefore deepen the understanding of each other. He hoped that the cooperation between PKU and the University of Cairo could be promoted as well via this event.
Professor Jiang Langlang from the PKU Department of Chinese Language and Literature stressed the importance of linking academic researches and country fortunes by introducing the example of the department.
Professor Fu Zhiming, Dean of the PKU Department of Arabic Language, made a brief introduction about the department, pointing out that it would like to cooperate with the University of Cairo in different aspects.
The attendees also talked about the political issues of Egypt and other topics as well.
