Peking University. Beijing. Nov 3, 2009: The high-end scholar exchange activity, “The Dialogue between Islam and Confucius---A Response to 21st Century Crisis”, organized by Beijing Forum 2009, is to be held on the afternoon of Nov 6 at the Multi-functional hall of PKU Hall. The distinguished guests of the dialogue, professor Seyyed Hossain Nasr from George Washington University, and professor Du Weiming from Harvard University also dean of the Institute of Advanced Studies in Humanities (PKU), will be conducting a full on discussion and exchange views on the crisis of traditional culture and values in the era of globalization and the consequent problems concerning economy, politics, ethics, environment and religion. It’s hoped that the dialogue will bring the two different civilizations closer to each other, eliminating the misunderstanding between them, and combine wisdom from both sides to address the crisis facing the entire human civilization.
