The Sixth International Conference on Nanophotonics held at PKU
Jun 04, 2012

Peking University, June 3: The Sixth International Conference on Nanophotonics was held at Yingjie Overseas Exchange Center, Peking University (PKU) on May 27 to 30.

The conference was co-chaired by Professor Gong Qihuang from PKU and Professor Joseph Haus from University of Dayton. 5 top international scholars in the field delivered plenary speeches and 39 gave invited talks. More than 300 representatives from over 19 countries attended the event.

Professor Gong looked back the development of the conference in the opening remarks, “Nanophotonics has become a new interdisciplinary scientific research field with rapid growth and a research direction that main countries are giving more support to. The conference will provide a platform for scientists and researchers all over the world to exchange their research on nanophotonics”.

The main subjects for this year’s conference were: the foundation of the nanophotonics and its application in biology, energy and environment, the design, material and device fabrication for nanophotonics and optical imaging, testing and characterization at nanometer scale.

This conference series was initiated by scholars in nanophotonics in 2007 and has been successfully held in China, Japan and some other countries in the past few years. It will further improve the research on nanophotonics in China and expand Chinese scholars’ influences on the world stage.
