This year's theme is "Inclusion and Innovation: Towards Universal Health Coverage". A lot of world renowned scholars, administrators and leaders in the field attended this event.

At the opening ceremony, Chen Zhu, Minister of Health of China, gave a keynote speech named Moving Forward to Universal Health Coverage: China’s Medical Reform and Achievement, elaborating the progress and foresight of China’s medical and health system reform. Ke Yang, PKU executive vice president of Peking University (PKU) and PUHSC welcomed all parties present and advocated the future improvement of the systematic research of health system and its reform.

                   
Three topics were mainly discussed around the theme, they were: international achievements and dissemination of knowledge on the aspect of health reform and development, innovation of current health system and research methods of health system. During the conference, Health System Global was established with 11 members elected to form the first deputy council. Professor Meng Qingyue, dean of Public Health School of PKU and executive director of PKU China Center for Health Development Studies, was elected as the only delegate from the West Pacific Region in the council.

With the wide participation from all sides and communication between all parties, contribution would surely be made to improve the health reform of all sides concerned.
